Tema Methodist SHS on Tuesday won the second contest in the preliminary stage of the National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ).
Three schools featured in the second contest on Tuesday afternoon held at GNAT Hall of the University of Ghana.
To prove their worth, Tema Methodist SHS and Our Lady of Mercy SHS battled it out fiercely with Holy Trinity SHS lagging to secure a spot in the next round of the competition.
Bernard Adjei Marfo and John Arthur who led Tema Methodist SHS to a great win showed great composure.
Our Lady of Mercy SHS represented by Afriyie Benson Owusu and Toufic Suraj proved themselves worthy contenders in the contest.
Unfortunately, Ellis Osabutey and Wahal Abdul could not amass enough strength to ensure a spot for Holy Trinity SHS.
At the end of the contest, Tema Methodist SHS wore the victors crown with 39 points, followed by Our Lady of Mercy who gave a close margin with 36 points. They left Holy Trinity behind with 22 points.
Supporters of various schools were not allowed at the venue due to Covid-19 pandemic.
However, they participated virtually through the NSMQ Facebook and YouTube channel.
