Newly-elected Upper West Regional Chairman of the Peoples National Convention (PNC) has pledged to work assiduously to ensure that the party is not only vibrant but wins two parliamentary seats in the Region.
Alhassan Zakaria said policies and programmes will be introduced as the country gears towards the 2020 elections to help meet their target.
He also promised that should the party win any parliamentary seats, electorates will be rigorously involved in all activities.
Mr Alhassan polled 100 votes to defeat incumbent Upper West Chairman of the party, Seed Nuhu Iddrisu who managed 35 at the regional delegates of the party held in Wa.
Septuagenarian Saeed Nuhu Iddrisu's hope of retaining the PNC Upper West Regional chair was flamed out by a 40-year-old political rookie, Alhassan Zachariah.

The election, however, was overshadowed by accusation and counter accusation of the embezzlement of ¢16,000 meant for the party by some former Regional Executives of the party.
The party’s former Secretary John Kandomah was accused although he has vehemently denied the allegations.
The PNC flagbearer is yet to be decided between the aspirants; Samson Awingobit Asaki and Rev Samuel Adjie Debrah.
