The University of Cape Coast (UCC) has rescheduled its reopening date for the 2020/21 academic year to Saturday, January 9, 2021.
The announcement was made in a press release signed by Director of Public Affairs, Major Kofi Baah-Bentum (Rtd), on the university’s website.
The development is in line with President Nana Akufo-Addo’s directives for tertiary institutions to recommence activities for the next academic year in January 2021.
The January 9 reopening date applies to both newly admitted and continuing students of the University.
The announcement also follows the postponement of plans by several other universities to commence the 2020/21 academic year before the end of this year.
The University of Ghana (UG) proposed to resume in November but backed down after the President's announcement on Sunday, October 18, 2020.
The press release also notes that the academic calendar for the year will be announced in due course.
