An independent candidate listed among members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) who have been dismissed from the party says he doesn't have allegiance to the party.
David Tiki Dange, who is contesting for the Damango seat was the 10th person on the list of dismissed members, but said he has never borne any political party card in his life.
"In as much as I respect the NDC as a party, I am sorry I have never had any political activity with any party anywhere at any time," he said in statement.
He added that the NDC should have done their checks well before compiling the list.
The opposition NDC Wednesday, dismissed 18 of its members for filing as independent parliamentary candidates in the December polls.
General Secretary of the party, Johnson Asiedu Nketia in a statement Wednesday, said those affected persons forfeited their membership the moment they filed nomination with the Electoral Commission as independent candidates.
He, thereby, ordered such persons to return all party property in their possession.
Mr Dange whose name was listed, however, has denied having anything to do with the NDC.
He said he has notified his lawyers of the anomaly, "to respond to the claim as soon as possible."
