Presidential Candidate of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Mahama says he is on a mission to rescue Ghana from the "clueless" Akufo-Addo government.
Delivering a speech to climax his campaign at Ofankor ahead of the December 7, polls Mr Mahama described President Akufo-Addo as a clueless leader who does not have a vision for the country.
He stressed that the current administration has mismanaged the economy and increased the financial debt of the nation.
Citing some of the corrupt activities under the incumbent administration, Mr Mahama noted that such acts have robbed the public purse and impoverished the citizens.
“The country is on auto-pilot, the President has run out of ideas. It is obvious that the President is tired and has no message so let us relieve him of this burden that he is carrying.
“We need to rescue our nation, and bring it back on track, this president has no clue where he is taking us to and he is taking us into a ditch,” he said.
He also added, “A vote for Akufo-Addo on Monday is a vote for PDS and we must not allow that to happen. We [NDC] are on a rescue mission.”
The former President then reiterated his promise to provide jobs, and make the Free SHS better by abolishing the double-track system in one year.
To materialise his promise of creating jobs, Mr Mahama said, he will introduce a 24-hour-shift which will give room for unemployed individuals to fill opening slots in companies.
