Mother of singer Fantana has won the parliamentary seat for the Jomoro Constituency in the Western Region.
Dorcas Affo-Toffey who was contesting under the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) polled 24,356 votes.
She beat the incumbent MP Paul Essien, who had 19,889 votes, to win the Jomoro seat.
Taking to her Instagram to announce the news, Fantana congratulated her mother on her win.
She wrote, "Mom, You are the HOPE of JOMORO 👑♥️🙌🏾YOU WON ! 🎉 YOU DID IT! Born LEADER! You are for the PEOPLE ♥️ and we love you!!!"
Ahead of the election, Fantana had gone to the constituency with Dancehall artiste Shatta Wale where they had outdoored the MP-elect to an excited crowd.
