Nigerian singer, Ayodeji Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, says he is not a big fan of awards.
In an interview with model Naomi Campbell, he explained that awards do not define who an artiste is.
Wizkid said that as an artist, his reward is knowing that his "music is touching people the right way".
"I am not a big fan of awards…I have been very vocal about that, it doesn’t define who you are.. it doesn’t define your substance [and] it doesn’t define how amazing you are."
Today on a brand new episode of #nofilterwithnaomi, I sit down with my little brother @wizkidayo! We chat about his life, music career and his latest album! Out full conversation is available on my @youtube channel! https://t.co/orNCkqvRym pic.twitter.com/aEMgZyZ9Um

The way he sees it, award shows are merely events organized by companies
"At the end of the day, you need to understand, awards is [sic] a company putting together a show.
"As long as my music is touching people and they are feeling it the right way, I’m very content about it," he said.
