South Dayi MP, Rockson Dafeamekpor has said the National Democratic Congress (NDC) will seek legal action to challenge the outcome of the 2020 general elections.
According to the opposition party's legal team member, the NDC has done enormous work on the collated results which significantly contradict that of the Electoral Commission.
Supporters of the NDC’s have been on the street for nearly two weeks protesting to back its candidate, John Mahama’s rejection of the EC’s declaration of Nana Akufo-Addo as President-elect.
The Minority has also demanded a re-collation of the Techiman South parliamentary polls or risk boycotting the inauguration on December 2 next year.
Speaking on AM Show Wednesday, Mr Dafeamekpor indicated that the NDC will go to court before the 21 days within which an election petition must be filed elapses.
"We are still within time so let everybody be calm about that," he told JoyNews' Benjamin Akakpo.
Currently, there are 137 MPs-elect each for both and NPP and NDC with one independent candidate.
But the NDC is targeting slim majority with its resolve to contest the results in the Techiman South constituency.
At a press conference yesterday, the party presented a tabulation of what they say is the certified results from the collation centre in Techiman South saying they won the seat by 293 votes.
On the back of that, they believe the NDC candidate, Christopher Beyere is the legitimate occupant for the seat in the just-ended general election.
