Freelance investigative journalist, Manasseh Azure Awuni has quizzed security agencies as to why swift actions are not taken against persons who threaten journalists.
"We know what happens when members of the opposition for instance issue certain threats. Ofosu Ampofo is being persecuted. We know a journalist who issued threats to the President has been invited.
"So why can't such swift actions be taken against those who threaten journalists?"
His comment during an interview with Super Morning Show host, Kojo Yankson follows recent death threats he received via email over an article titled 'ERRORtoral Commission and Akufo-Addo's coup d'état'.
According to the anti-graft advocate, his family has raised concerns over the dangers his line of profession pose to him.
"We have been told that the people you are going after are too powerful and dangerous. After GIDA, revert to your community developmental stories. Don't do investigations again because your face is already out there.
"This is something I have always struggled with; not just my family but people who care about me," he added.
Speaking to JoyNews Monday, Mr Manasseh Azure noted that "it is not an easy thing trying to let the family know that something needs to be done about the state in which we find ourselves as a country.
"If everybody is afraid because they want to be safe and their family be safe, then nothing will get done."
He, however, insists that the right actions must be taken even though others have thrown in the towel because of fear.
Mr Manasseh Awuni also threw a word of caution to colleagues in the media to be vigilant as they perform their duties.
"When we get to the level at which your life is being threatened, I think it is very serious and no journalist should take this lightly. It happened to Ahmed Suale. Those who threatened him are free and it has been two years and no one has been held responsible," he stated.
