The NDC's Central Regional Communications Officer has petitioned to Speaker Alban Bagbin against MPs for Assin Central and Awutu Senya East.

Kwasi Dawood's petition is based on what he said is the "unruly and un-parliamentary" actions by Kennedy Agyapong and Mavis Hawa Koomson exhibited pre and post 2020 general elections.

The Assin Central MP, Kennedy Agyapong has been accused of threatening to end the life of former President John Mahama and top wigs of the NDC that include General Secretary Asiedu Nketia, Baba Jamal among others.

According to Kwasi Dawood, Kennedy Agyapong in an interview on NET2 TV blamed the NDC of being responsible for recent fire outbreaks in the country that has led to the loss of many livelihoods.

And in retaliation, "He Kennedy Agyapong together with others will burn down the house of former president John Mahama located at Chain Homes as well as burn the former president himself," the petitioner stated.

Also, MP for Awutu Senya East Hawa Koomson has been accused of disrupting electoral processes in her constituency before the 2020 general election.

"Mavis Hawa Koomson visited Step to Christ polling station in the Awutu Senya East Constituency on Monday 20th July 2020 during the voter registration exercise in the company of some well-built men to disrupt the registration process.

"The Mavis Hawa Koomson and her thugs burnt down a motorbike belonging to one of those who had showed up to be registered," parts of the petition stated.

According to the petitioner, these uncommendable acts are "inimical to democracy" hence "pose a grave danger to life and property of citizens of Ghana as well as a threat to the peace and security of the State."

Mr Dawood urged the Speaker to institute a probe into the conduct of Kennedy Agyapong and Mavis Hawa Koomson relative to the above-mentioned conducts.

Mr Kwasi Dawood is calling for the immediate sanctioning of the legislators should they be held culpable of such gruesome acts.

"Their actions should be propped and when found liable must suffer the appropriate sanctions as the laws of Ghana and the authority of Parliament permit," he stated.

He also pledged to avail himself as a witness during investigations to be carried out by the Speaker.
