A 27-year-old Burkinabe citizen has been lynched at Wulugu near Walewale in the North East Region.
This follows a robbery attack in the town Sunday morning, according to JoyNews correspondent Eliasu Tanko.
The victim Sanugu Abdulai, a truck conducter, was traveling with his master back to Burkina Faso, on the Tamale - Bolga highway, when he was mistaken for the suspect of the earlier robbery.
He was attacked by the angry mob who later incinerated his lifeless body.
Police and eyewitnesses said the man was killed after he came out of his vehicle to escape a robbery operation which was underway in the town.
A combined team of police and military personnel who were rushed to the scene have since conveyed the charred body from the community without any arrest.
JoyNews gathers that while the community members are expressing deep regret and remorse, the master of the deceased is calling for justice.
