The United Kingdom branch of the 1960-to-2000-year group of the Yaa Asantewaa Past Girls Association (YAPGA) has handed over ICT projects to the Yaa Asantewaa Girls Senior High School to enhance education.
The projects which run into several thousands of cedis include the refurbishment of the school’s Information and Communication Technology (ICT) center, the provision of forty brand new computers, eight uninterrupted power supply, two printers, three projectors, and wireless network cards among others.
President of the UK branch of YAPGA, Madam Mercy Adu, speaking at the presentation ceremony, said the support to the school was their widow's mite to their alma mater.
She said the support was to help create an enabling environment for effective teaching and learning in the school since the world was now in the information technology era.
“After going through the school several years ago, which has helped us attain various heights in life, we decided to come back to support the school so that the current generation would also get the right materials to enhance their learning.”

Headmistress for the Yaa Asantewaa Girls Senior High School, Ms. Fameyeh Asuande Eshun, lauded the year group for the support which stood the chance of boosting effective teaching and learning in the school.
She said that the gesture will complement government’s effort although it is the responsibility of the government to lead the supply of resources to the schools.
Ms Fameyeh was optimistic that the new ICT center, the computers, and the other equipment would go a long way to help the students.
