Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has reminded Muslims in the country to be mindful of Covid-19 and strictly adhere to safety protocols as the month-long Ramadan fast begins.
Muslims all over the world on Tuesday started the annual Ramadan fast, a period in which Muslims get closer to Allah by reading the Holy Quran extensively as well as undertaking other devotional prayers.
The month brings the Ummah together for congregational prayers and breaking their fast in the evenings.
While wishing all Muslims the best of the most blessed month on the Islamic calendar on his Facebook wall, Dr Bawumia encouraged them to be "mindful of the presence of Covid-19 and continue to observe the safety protocols, especially in our various mosques."
He also urged Muslims to pray for the prosperity of Ghana and loved ones during the holy month.
