The Kasoa Divisional Police Command has arrested a counterfeit baron at Gomoa Budumburam in the Gomoa East District of the Central Region.
The 43-year-old was apprehended after several complaints by residents at Kasoa, Budumburam and its environs that some group of people are trading in fake currency.
Narrating the incident to Adom News, the Kasoa Divisional Crime Officer, DSP Owusu Dwomoh said they had a tip-off and proceeded to the scene where they arrested the suspect, Kofi Appiah, popularly known as Nana with ¢50.00 note bundles and plenty of unfinished papers.

According to the suspect, he is not the one who manufactured the money. He, therefore, revealed that there are also the Central Regional agents.
The Ghanaian currency was not the only ones the suspects may be engaging in as there was an indication of the US dollar at the arrest scene.

Meanwhile, DSP Owusu Dwomoh said police are investigating the matter since the suspect has mentioned other suspects located in Accra.
