The Nhyiaso MP, Dr Stephen Amoah, says politicians have let Ghana down over the previous half-century.
According to him, for many years leaders have failed to provide sophisticated machineries that will aid the vast production of fruits and vegetables for export and create jobs for citizens.
Speaking to Benjamin Akakpo on the AM Show Thursday, Mr Amaoh explained that Ghana has failed to get the best from its resources that do not require complex value change for production and export.
“If we have all these kinds of fruits in our country, things like pineapple and mango that do not require complex value change in terms of production.
"But our leaders failed to provide requisite machines to aid tones and litres of its production which will, in turn, create jobs for tens and thousands of citizens for 40 years.
“I think the problem is that for about 50 years, political leaders who had the mandate to lead this country have failed us,” he stated.
For him, people will continue to die and beg for money if leaders do not fix the country, and it has nothing to do with which party rules the country simultaneously in four years.
He added that Ghana has forests, savannah, and semi savannah, coastal built in terms of skilled component of our labour force, good engineers, and good doctors, but he cannot fathom exactly what is challenging the country from progressing economically.
So he indicated that it is not the fault of anyone begging to earn a living because there is a system of poverty that has been created for the past 60 years.
