The Chief of Ejura is calling for an extension of stay of the military contingent dispatched to maintain law and order.
This request comes 6 days after the uniformed men allegedly gunned down two residents and injured three others.
The two were shot while protesting the murder of their colleague and social activist, Ibrahim Kaaka which sparked an uproar across the country.
A Ministerial Committee has since been set up to probe the circumstances surrounding the incident.
While the committee prepares to kickstart its mandate, Barima Osei Hwedie II says the level of violence incited by some elements within the town needs urgent attention.
He told the committee that he will table recent violent occurrences when they appear before it, according to JoyNews' Erastus Asare Donkor.
Meanwhile, the three-member committee chaired by an Appeal’s Court judge Justice George Kingsley Koomson will on Tuesday begin a public hearing into the shooting.
In a press statement dated July 5, the Chairman of the Committee, Kwabia Owusu Mensah noted that the committee will “receive evidence from witnesses at its sitting at the Prempeh Assembly Hall in Kumasi at 10: 00 am each day” to help bring perpetrators to book.
