Ghana-based Cameroonian chromatic xylophone virtuoso has revealed that he would like to collaborate with singer and songwriter, Kofi Kinaata.
According to Obase-Aboli, Kofi Kinaata’s style of music is matchless and no artiste can sing like him.
He made this revelation to Joy Entertainment at his album listening “UJHASUMA AFRICA”.
“The guy that I like who has a very unique kind of music style, I think they can even give him a kind of genre on its own is Kofi Kinaata. A song like “Delong” will not be bad to have someone like Kofi Kinaata on it. His music is unique and as musicians, we look out for things that are unique.
"Kofi Kinaata, I do not know any musician who sings like him or who does the kind of music he does. I listen to him a lot and I like the fact that his music is unique. He has his own market and he doesn’t blink about it.” he said.
Obase-Aboli is a contemporary pan-African singer, songwriter, composer and entertainer brandishing his soothing traditional percussion instrument, the “Double 22 keys”.
Obase-Aboli has worked with Salif Keita, Lassana Diabate, Les Ambasadeur du Hotel Bamako, the Kronos Quartet, Just a Band from Kenya, Jedu Blay Amboley, Bessa Simons, Aka Blay from Ghana and several other artists
