The Regional Coordinating Council in partnership with Tebel Ghana Limited have embarked on a three day exercise of fumigation at the Agbogbloshie market.
This forms part of the “Lets Make Accra Work” campaign initiated by the Greater Accra Regional Minister, Mr Henry Quartey, to improve living and business conditions in the nation’s capital.
The market was demolished on Thursday 1st July this year after Regional Minister, Mr Quartey instructed the onion traders to relocate after over 20 years of plying their trade there.

The onion traders, livestock rearers and scrap dealers at Agbogbloshie have been relocated to Adjen Kotoku.
Agbogbloshie market is a well-known commercial district on the banks of the Korle Lagoon of the Odaw River, and was predominantly an onion market and an automobile and electronic scrapyard.
Tebel Ghana Limited is the company charged to desilt the gutters and fumigate the 80 acres of land space of Agbogbloshie.
This is to eradicate the pests, insects and rodents that have engulfed the property and have affected neighboring business establishments and households located within the enclave.
