South Africa's Bayana Bayana ended their Aisha Buhari Cup campaign on a high, by defeating hosts, Nigeria in the final game of the competition.
Desiree Ellis' Bayana Bayana proved too strong for the Super Falcons, sinking their West African opponents 4-2 in the final game.
Despite their dominance in the first half, it was an own goal from Nigeria's Alozie Chidi which rewarded the efforts of the Bayana Bayana in the first quarter of the game.
South Africa extended their lead via a penalty in the 17th minute, and they seemed to put the game to bed with a third just before the halftime break.
Before that goal however, Nigeria had a goal of their own disallowed.
The second half had a different feel to it, with the Nigerians making renewed efforts to upstage their counterparts.
A rally saw Nigeria grab two goals, setting the score at 3-2, to the apprehension of the South Africans - Vivian Ikechukwu scoring both goals.
Nonetheless South Africa extended their lead via another penalty scored by Mamello Makhabane.
With the game at 4-2, the Bayana Bayana managed to extinguish flames of fight from the Super Falcons.
This victory will serve as some form of revenge for South Africa, after their defeat to Nigeria in the 2018 AWCON final.
