In recent times, the country’s coastal residents, especially Volta and some parts of the Greater Accra regions have had to bear the brunt of effects of climate change in the form of incessant tidal waves.
On Sunday, November 7 disaster hit communities in the Keta municipality, rendering many homeless and others displaced.
Communities such as Abutiakope, Kedzikope, and Keta Central were largely affected to the extent that residents had nothing to salvage.
Also, in Anloga, residents of Dzita, Agbledomi, Atiteti, Agokedzi, and Fuveme were displaced by the destructive tidal waves. Properties running into thousands of Ghana cedis have been destroyed.
Meanwhile, NADMO has sent some relief items to affected communities.
Given recent happenings at Keta and its environs, PM Express tonight held a one-on-one conversation with Deputy Majority leader, Alexander Afenyo-Markin to ascertain the views of Parliament's Majority caucus on the issue.
