Some 2,363 post-graduate students and 88 Ph.D. students have passed out from the School of Graduate Studies of the University of Ghana at the school's first in-person graduation ceremony since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic began.

The ceremony was held at the A. A Kwapong Quadrangle of the University of Ghana on January 14, 2022, in two sessions for the 2020/2021 cohorts of post-graduate and Ph.D. students.

Addressing the first session of the congregation, the Vice-chancellor of the school Prof. Nana Aba Appiah Amfo said her goal for the university is " to lead it to attain the status of a 21st-century world-class research-intensive university and her vision, to create a culture that promotes research, teaching and learning administrative process and extension activities driven by technology and anchored in humanism".

She also announced the establishment of city campuses in Takoradi and Kumasi emphasising that the university's council had already granted approval in 2019 for the establishment of these campuses and processes towards their commencement are on course.

MTN Group Vice-president for West and Central Africa and guest speaker for the event, Mr. Ebenezer Twum Asante admonished the graduates to pursue their dreams ethically.

"We all need transformational mindsets that are driven by strong values and right behaviours. If you do not recall anything at all, please remember in your high and low times, you are the sole entrepreneur, pilot and captain of your capabilities and that your purpose and ethics should drive your passion. Go out there and make your mark of difference", he stated.

Meanwhile, the university held virtual graduation ceremony in various sessions for this year's undergraduate students.
