The Ablekuma North MP, Sheila Bartels earlier today visited the Odorkor Market to engage with the market women and other constituents present during her visit.
The purpose of this engagement was to wish them well in the new year while gathering first-hand information on the various challenges facing the market, and its stakeholders.

She also took the chance to engage them on the 'Operation Clean Your Frontage' program, the controversial E-levy and the various issues which the e-levy seeks to address.
Among the challenges highlighted by the traders, the most prominent was the poor nature of the road leading to the market.

They also highlighted issues such as difficulties in obtaining loans for their businesses, the poor drainage and lighting infrastructure of the market, and difficulties in obtaining their Ghana Cards.
Addressing these concerns, Mrs Bartels assured the constituents of her readiness to liaise with the Municipal Assembly's Engineers and other relevant officers to come up with suitable solutions for some of their challenges.

She also assured the market women that they would soon see some major work on the market and adjoining streets since the process of awarding it to a contractor was near completion.
