The Executive Committee of UEFA has been called into an extraordinary meeting by UEFA president, Aleksander Ceferin 'to evaluate' tensions between Russia and Ukraine, and 'take all necessary decisions'.
In the early hours of Thursday morning, Russian forces invaded Ukraine from the Northern, Southern and Eastern borders, following a TV declaration from Russian president, Vladimir Putin.
UEFA are now very likely to strip St. Petersburg of its hosting rights of the 2022 UCL final. This decision - one largely supported by majority of football fans - is likely to be taken at the extraordinary meeting of UEFA's executive committee.
The announcement of the meeting was made via UEFA's official twitter account.
