A middle-aged man has donated a coffin to Muslims at Ejuratia in the Kwabre East district of the Ashanti region as his Ramadan gift.
The donation has become the talk of the town as some residents are shocked by his gesture.
The common form is for individuals and organisations to make donations of assorted food items to Muslims during Ramadan and the celebration of the end of the fasting season.
But residents of Ejuratia were shocked to see the coffin donated to the Muslim community.
However, the Muslim community in Ejuratia says there is nothing wrong with the donation if the donor has no bad intentions.
One of the Muslim leaders, Mohammed Baba Nasir, told Joy News the man initially approached them with the idea of buying them a coffin and they accepted after he indicated there is no bad intentions.
According to him, they will definitely die one day and will need it; hence their decision to accept the offer.
Baba Nasir says the donor bought three coffins for three different Muslim communities.
