The Chamber of Petroleum Consumers Ghana (COPEC) is projecting a drop of up to 2% in the price of Liquified Petroleum Gas.
It anticipates LPG to sell for about ¢10.093 per kilogram.
Their prediction comes after some users of the product raised concerns about the sporadic increase in the price of the product, causing some to switch to charcoal and firewood.
But according to the Head of Research at COPEC, Benjamin Nsiah, the drop is about some ¢0.21.
“The price of LPG is expected to decline by 2%, which is around ¢0.21 per kilogram in the first window of May.
"LPG will now be sold at around ¢10.00 per kilogram. This is because the international price per metric tonne of LPG has declined.”
The rise in the prices of various petroleum products has been attributed to the continuous depreciation of the Cedi and Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
However, petrol and diesel prices are expected to go up by 3% this month.
