100m National record holder Benjamin Azamati and Long jump Queen Deborah Acquah will lead team Ghana at the upcoming World Athletics Championship to stage in Oregon on 15-24 July.
Benjamin Azamati who recently signed a sponsorship and endorsement deal with ASICS has been in great form this year.
The West Texas A&M Star run a stunning 9.90s in March, followed that up with 9.96s and an illegal 9.86s.
Azamati who will participate in the 100m and 4x100 event placed 4th at the Oslo diamond League finishing behind Olympic 200m Champion Andre de Grasse and won the Paris diamond league to round up a great year.
National Long Jump record holder Deborah Acquah will look to impress on the world stage after an equally great year.

Acquah has set a new national record of 6.89m (+0.07) at the LSU Gold meeting in April improving her previous national record of 6.81m.
National 200m record holder Joseph Paul Amoah has opted to participate in the 100m, 200m and 4x100m at the World Athletics Championships.

This year Amoah ran under 10 seconds for the first time on April 23rd 2022 with a time of 9.94 seconds, making him the 4th Ghanaian to run the event under 10 seconds.
The time also marked the first time in Ghana's history that two of their athletes made the top 2 in the world for the 100m.

Alexander Amankwah who qualified with a time of 1;44;97s will feature in 800m, Ghana’s 4x100m team who made the Tokyo 2020 Olympic final are back in the hunt for a medal this year.

The team includes Benjamin Azamati, Joseph Paul Amoah, Sean Safo Antwi, Joseph Manu and Emmanuel Yeboah.
Ghana is in search of a medal at the World Athletics Championships for the first time since Vida Anim last won 200m bronze in 2006.
