National 200m record holder, Joseph Paul Amoah, will come up against Africa's fastest man, Ferdinand Omanyala in Heat 7 of the World Athletics Championships in Eugene, Oregon.
Having competed in the same event at the 2019 edition of the championships, Paul Amoah is confident of making the semifinal this year.
Amoah recorded sub-ten in 100m for the first time when he run a personal best of 9.94s at the MSU Legacy Meet in April and is currently ranked 13th by World Athletics.
He will be in the same heat as Ferdinand Omanyala, who arrived in Eugene just hours ago ahead of the start of the heats.
Joe Paul's heat starts at 2:32am (Ghana time)
