Ghana’s leading online news portal, The Multimedia Group’s myjoyonline.com website has been awarded the ‘Online News Portal’ of 2021 by the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIMG) Ghana.
In a citation at the 33 edition of the award ceremony on Saturday evening at the plush Labadi Beach Hotel, the Institute acknowledged that " In the year under review, you set yourself an agenda to create compelling exciting, enthralling content to attract the largest audience wherever they are, through multiple platforms..."
The CIMG added that per "the estimation of our evaluators, you are on course per your delivery of exceptional value to advertisers and all other stakeholders."
It lauded the portal's "aim to reach out to audiences on the go and those overseas, by keeping them tuned in to their favourite programmes, you developed podcast that enabled patrons to have downloadable versions of diets served by your media house."
The CIMG confirmed the websites' enviable attainment of "Top of Mind Awareness (TOMA) and brand visibility with a share of 41% share of market, making you rule the airwaves."
It recognised patrons lauding The Multimedia Group's "CSR initiative in sanitation where you have been in the forefront of the Joy Clean Ghana Campaign, which is yielding positive outcomes."
At the same ceremony, the Group was also adjudged the ‘Media Organisation of the Year’, while its popular radio show, Drivetime on Joy FM also won the ‘Radio Programme of the Year.’
Also, Erastus Asare Donkor of the Kumasi unit of the Group was honoured for the documentary that highlighted the devastating effects of the ‘galamsey’ menace - ‘Destruction for Gold’ documentary.
The documentary pricked the conscience of Ghanaian society on the impunity of illegal mining activities and the harm caused to the environment, especially water bodies.
The awards ceremony was held under the theme, “Creative Marketing and Innovation in a volatile global economy.” The awards are in respect of performance in 2021.
