On Monday, President Akufo-Addo swore in 3 new members of the Electoral Commission (EC).
But the Buem MP and former National Organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Kofi Adams has accused President Akufo-Addo of packing the Electoral Commission (EC) with known members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
This follows pictures of one of the appointees, Dr Peter Appiahene going viral. The pictures portray him as a patron of the NPP’s tertiary institutions wing, TESCON, specifically at the University of Energy and Natural Resources.
In the light of this, the NDC argues that his appointment raises questions about EC's credibility.
On the back of this development, JoyNews PM Express discusses whether partisan affiliation matters in EC's role.
