The Director of Train2inspire Consultancy, Oscar Bimpong says Ghanaians are not enterprising as compared to Nigerians.
According to him, Nigerians are fearless and can go the extra mile to meet their needs, unlike Ghanaians who do not make the effort to achieve their aims.
Although he thinks Ghanaians are supportive, the fact that they are not adequately enterprising is causing the growth of the country.
Aside from the fact that Ghana beat Nigeria in sports, food and other activities, he thinks Ghanaians are not aggressively enterprising.
He said this in a conversation with Roselyn Felli on Prime Morning on Monday.
"We’re very supportive and positive, but when it comes to enterprise, winning or when it comes to us going out there and making sure that we get it, I feel we’re not go-getters. Sometimes, we beat the Nigerians in football and all that kind of stuff, but when you look enterprise wise, they’re go-getters. They fight and go for it. They’re not afraid…" he said.
The consultant attributed his point to the fact that most university graduates lament the unavailability of jobs in the country when they have failed to make the effort to search for one.
He said Ghanaians are too quick to give up when they fail to succeed after a first approach.
Additionally, Mr. Bimpong is of the view that religion has a huge influence on the mindset of Ghanaians, saying most people pray without acting.
"Faith without works is dead. So if you have faith and you don’t go out there and pursue, will it work? If you want to be on TV, that’s your faith but if you don’t go out seeking a job on TV are you going to get it? He quizzed.
He claimed that Ghanaians must strive harder to contribute to the improvement of the economy and that the passing of time should not be a concern when pursuing one's aspirations; rather, patience and perseverance should be vital.
The consultant also stipulated that the individual’s mindset determines their level of success, indicating that success and failure start in the mind.
