Accra Hearts of Oak’s title ambitions took a big hit with an embarrassing 4-1 defeat at Tamale City on match day 28 of the betPawa Ghana Premier League.
The Phobians were outplayed, out-thought and deservedly beaten by a brilliant Tamale City, who needed the win to help with their relegation fight.
Hearts of Oak have now fallen 8 points behind leaders Aduana Stars, while Tamale City go 3 points above the relegation zone
Elsewhere on match day 28 in the league, leaders Aduana Stars returned to winning ways with a 2-0 home win against Bibiani Gold Stars.
Medeama jumped to second with a cracking 3-2 win over Dreams FC. A 91st-minute strike from Hamidu Abdul Fatawu ensured the Tarkwa-based side secured the maximum points.
Legon Cities made it 3 wins in their last 3 games with a 2-0 victory over Accra Lions. Berekum Chelsea and Samartex also secured victories.
Later on Thursday, Asante Kotoko can go up to 3rd on the log, if they can beat Great Olympics in Sogakope. RTU host Karela in the day’s other game.
