The Chief Executive Officer of Bibiani Gold Stars, Kwasi Adu, has cautioned Medeama SC to be well-equipped ahead of their CAF Champions League preliminary stage clash against TP Mazembe.
The Tarkwa-based side are hoping to return to the group phase of the continental tournament once again after their performance in the 2023/24 season.
In their way in the preliminary phase is TP Mazembe, who are five-time winners of the competition, with the encounter scheduled for September 5.
Ahead of the game, the Gold Stars CEO has urged the club to prepare well enough for their game against the DR Congo side.
"Playing in Africa is a different element altogether. Ghanaian clubs have recently failed to compete in the Champions League; recently, it was Medeama themselves who did well and Dreams (in the Confederation Cup)," he said.
"My basic worry is about when they are to play TP Mazembe. They need to prepare well. If they do their groundwork very well, if they manage their players well, motivate the players well and plan well in all their travel, they can upset TP Mazembe."
The return fixture of that clash is scheduled to be played in Lubumbashi a week after September 5.
