On Thursday, May 4, 2023, your favourite morning show, Joy Super Morning Show discusses the Galamsey menace, with the conversation centered on the Minerals Commission of Ghana.
Is the Commission part of the Galamsey Problem or part of the Solution? Remember it has the mandate to regulate and manage the utilisation of the mineral resources of the country and to co-ordinate and implement policies related to mining.
The Chief Executive Officer of the Commission, Martin Ayisi will be in the studios between 8:15 am and 9:15 am to help dissect the topic and to provide answers to your questions.
The illegal mining canker is obviously becoming intractable, persisting in the face of attempts by different administrations to curb it.

Remember President Akufo-Addo even put his presidency on the line on a pledge to deal with it?
“I have said it in the Cabinet, and perhaps this is the first time I am making this public, that I am prepared to put my Presidency on the line on this matter,” he said famously in 2017.
And more recently, there is a certain report by Prof Kwabena Frimpong-Boateng, chairman of the erstwhile Inter-Ministerial Committee on Illegal Mining, of how we have fought or refused to fight the national canker.
Join your regular hosts; Kojo Yankson and Winston Amoah on Joy 99.7 FM with your questions and suggestions.
