Wembley Sports Construction Company Limited (WSCCL) has assured the chiefs and people of Sunyani of the timely delivery of a quality astroturf at the Penkwase Sakora Park in the Sunyani East Municipality of the Bono Region.
Simon Lamptey, the head of construction at WSCCL said the Penkwase astroturf is the construction company's 68th project, and they are determined to uphold their high standard.
He spoke to Joy Sports when Member of Parliament for Sunyani, Kwasi Ameyaw-Cheremeh, cut sod for the artificial football pitch with ancillary facilities at Penkwase.

The 500-seater with VIP seating area project is being financed by the Bui Power Authority (BPA) and facilitated by the Sunyani Municipal Assembly.
The over 5.5 million cedis deal was brokered by the Sunyani East Member of Parliament, who doubles as the Board Chairman of BPA.
“What we have here is a full FIFA approved 11 aside football pitch, 68 by 105 meters”, Mr Lamptey said and added that the project also comes with ”a floodlight, 500 seater spectator stand and a VIP seating area”.

He further explained that the project, scheduled to be completed in 6 months, will have mesh fencing.
“Wembley is known for quality”, Simon Lamptey assured the chiefs and people of the community, adding that “we don’t have any plans of slowing down anytime soon”.
He said they will bring their professionals from Accra when they fully start construction but will employ some of the indigenes.
“The indigenes will not just work, but we will also train them as well for the maintenance, so that when we are done with the project, and we stay for six months for the retention period, they will continue maintaining the project when we leave”, the head of construction explained.
He noted that the move is not just about the construction of the astroturf but also building human capacity as well.

He believes the people will be excited about the project after completion since it could serve other purposes besides football.
“The kind of grass we use comes from the number one producer of astroturf. It is a multipurpose grass which can hold funerals, parties, boxing bouts, football, and other functions on it”, he said.
He expressed WSCCL's gratitude to the Sunyani East MP, Kwasi Ameyaw-Cheremeh, for his belief in Wembley, and assured him of quality and timely work.
Mr Ameyaw-Cheremeh appealed to the community to offer the necessary support for the project expected to help the development of football talents.
