Former Black Stars head coach James Kwasi Appiah met with Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II on Tuesday, July 4, over the possibility of taking over the coaching job at Asante Kotoko, Joy Sports understands.
The ex-Kotoko left-back is looking to return to the club he once coached during his early days as a gaffer.
Appiah was the head coach of the Porcupine Warriors during the 1995/96 Ghana Premier League season.
The club ended the 2022/23 season with Abdul Gazale as the interim manager following the sacking of Seydou Zerbo midway into the season.
Manhyia is also said to have dissolved the Board and Management team of the club following the end of their tenure.
Appiah, Joy Sports understands, was convinced about the project presented to him by the Asantehene with the former Ghana gaffer set to be given the long-term project.
