Global Media Alliance, in collaboration with Kosmos Innovation Center, has hosted a PR Masterclass to support the growth and success of start-ups.
The event which was held last Friday as part of activities marking this year’s World Public Relations Day Festival, recorded close to 100 start-ups mainly in the agribusiness space participating.
The PR Masterclass, which is a social impact initiative of the WPRD Festival, is aimed at empowering entrepreneurs with essential public relations, digital marketing, and brand-building skills by equipping participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to build strong brand identities, establish meaningful relationships with target audiences, and navigate the evolving media landscape.
In his remarks to open the Masterclass session, Chief Executive Officer of Global Media Alliance, Ernest Boateng emphasized that the initiative has the potential to be a game-changer for participating startups in competing in their respective markets.
“We are thrilled to have partnered with Kosmos Innovation Center in delivering this initiative that will ensure that entrepreneurs are equipped with the knowledge and right tools to effectively communicate their products and services and their vision to their target audience.
"I firmly believe this will be pivotal in distinguishing themselves in competitive markets,” said Ernest Boateng.
On his part, the Executive Director of Kosmos Innovation Center (KIC), Benjamin Gyan-Kesse expressed deep appreciation for Global Media Alliance’s efforts in providing requisite skills in Public Relations for startups to thrive.
“At KIC, we are committed to supporting entrepreneurs to nurture and grow their businesses, and this involves coaching, mentoring and training start-ups under our respective programs, in core areas related to agribusiness and business management, with Public Relations forming a critical aspect of business growth,” Mr Gyan-Kesse said in his welcome address.
“It is very commendable what GMA has set out to achieve in commemoration of World PR Day. We are also proud to have partnered in this initiative as it well aligns with our goal of investing in young entrepreneurs and small businesses who have big ideas and want to see their country grow.
"It is our hope that this event will be an opener to many more partnerships that will positively impact entrepreneurs in Ghana and beyond,” he added.
The PR Masterclass featured a line-up of seasoned industry professionals as facilitators.
They were Eli Daniel-Wilson, Digital Expert and Director of Strategy & Sales at Pulse Ghana, Paa Kwesi Forson, Head of PR at Global Media Alliance, and Content Marketing Manager at African Leadership University, Kwabena Oppon-Kusi.
These facilitators took participants through key areas in Digital Media, Traditional PR, and Branding that will enhance the market and brand awareness of these start-ups.
The session also covered relevant PR tools and strategies to help create compelling brand stories, leverage social media for brand awareness, and measure PR impact on their brands.
The World Public Relations Day Festival is a series of events held to bring PR professionals together to have a unified global agenda towards making the world understand and utilize PR better.
