The Ghana Individual Bondholders Forum on Monday night issued a clarion call to members to show up in their numbers on Tuesday at the Ministry of Finance to press the government to fulfil its obligations under agreements reached as part of the domestic debt exchange programme.
In a video summons as a sequel to earlier notices to picket the Finance Ministry should the government fail to honour maturing principals and coupons, the Forum says members stand at the precipice of a defining struggle for which they must brace themselves and demand justice for their kith and kin.
“Today, many homes are in despair, many lives have been shattered, by government’s continuous theft of our savings. We give them power, they abuse it, we give them our taxes, they misuse it, honest advice they refuse it, and today they are taking our savings….”
