A young man believed to be in his 30s has been found dead at Atadeka New York close to Peace Land in the Kpone-Katamanso Municipality of the Greater Accra Region.
The deceased was found in the early hours of Sunday, July 23.
His body was partly covered with leaves while he wore a boxer shorts. Although it is unclear what led to his death, residents suspect he may have been beaten judging from the marks on his body.
The incident, said to be the first of its kind in the area, has alarmed residents who are calling for the installation of streetlights to make the area safe at night.
They told JoyNews that moving around at night and dawn is quite risky as their calls for streetlights over the years have fallen on deaf ears.
According to the residents, siting a police post in the area would go a long way to improve security.
Police from the Atadeka District Command have picked up the deceased's body.
