The embattled former Sanitation Minister Cecilia Abena Dapaah has been granted bail by the Office of the Special Prosecutor.
She was granted bail in the late hours of Monday, July 24, with a surety.
According to MyJoyOnline.com sources, her relatives have also been questioned by officials of the OSP.
Again, Madam Dapaah has been asked to fill out an income and property form, the sources added.
Earlier on Monday, July 24, 2023, Mrs Dapaah was taken to her official residence in Cantonments, where OSP officials executed a thorough search.
Following this, her Abelemekpe residence was also searched by agents of the Special Prosecutor.
Details surrounding the arrest and searches remain undisclosed at this point.
However, sources add that the OSP is likely to provide updates to the public on the arrest and the outcome of the search operations on Tuesday, July 25.
Mrs Dapaah’s arrest and the subsequent search operations have undoubtedly captured the nation’s attention, given her previous role as Minister of Sanitation and Water Resources.
The situation raises questions and concerns among Ghanaians, who are keenly awaiting the OSP’s official statement concerning the developments.
The action is in relation to the $1 million, €300,000 and millions of Ghana cedis allegedly stolen from her home between July and October 2022 by her house helps.
