A member of the group that undertook the Accra to London road trip has explained why the team reached out to Kantanka Automobile Company Limited.
Richard Osei Anim while highlighting the audacious road trip gave a detailed description of their daily encounters on the journey to the UK.
In an interview on JoyNews’ AM Show, Mr Anim stated that they like to promote Ghana and the road trip would have been an awesome opportunity to put a Ghanaian-assembled car in the limelight.
But their effort to get them on board did not materialise.
“We approached the CEO, we approached members of his team, we couldn’t even get an appointment,” he said.
He further said that although their efforts to reach the Kantanaka Automobile proved futile, it is needless to drag the issue as the road trip was still a success.
This comes a day after the Kantanka CEO asserted that he missed out on a valuable opportunity to promote their products.
“This is something I would have loved to be part of,” Nana Kwadwo Safo Jnr said in a tweet on Monday.
Nana, however, lamented that he “was never contacted.”
But Richard Osei Anim is of a different view. He told JoyNews that his team can reference correspondence to prove otherwise.
“We’ve got receipts but again we’re being magnanimous,” he said.
