Suspended World 100m hurdles record holder, Tobi Amusan, has been left out of Nigeria’s list of athletes for the 2023 World Championships in Budapest, Hungary.
Amusan was handed a provisional suspension last month by the Athletics Integrity Unit for missing three consecutive doping tests.
She vowed to fight to have the ban lifted in time to defend her title in Budapest, but no decision yet has been made on her appeal with 10 days to the competition.
The Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) on Tuesday unveiled 22 athletes for the competition that will run from August 19 to 27 with Amusan conspicuously missing.
Amusan is the defending champion in the event, having won the crown in Eugene, Oregon last year.
Team Nigeria will be led by Commonwealth Games gold medallist in the women's long jump, Ese Brume, as well as US-based sprinter Favor Ofili.
