Nigerian artiste Davido’s rise on the global stage continued after he performed at the 2023 Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) Awards.
Davido thrilled some of the best players in the world as well as club officials at the event, which took place at the Lowry Theatre, Manchester, on Tuesday, August 29.
The PFA Awards is the next major sports event the musician has performed at since he was enlisted at the 2022 FIFA World Cup final in Qatar.
Davido’s appearance also makes it the first time an Afrobeats artist has performed at the event.
The PFA is the union for professional association footballers in England and Wales, with over 5,000 members across the divisional leagues.
Manchester City’s Erling Haaland was named the winner of the PFA Players’ Player of the Year after his brilliant first season with the club during the 2022/23 season.
Bukayo Saka clinched the Men’s PFA Young Player of the Year award with Lauren James winning for same category for women.
