A woman driving a Nissan saloon car narrowly escaped death when a cargo truck carrying empty cartons tumbled on her car at Iron City, a suburb of Ngleshie Amanfro in the Ga South Municipality of the Greater Accra Region.
The near-fatal accident got the woman trapped in the car, and it took passersby some time to rescue her behind the steering wheel, after which she was rushed to a nearby hospital.
The accident occurred on Sunday afternoon when a cargo truck with registration number, AS 5993 G, negotiated a sharp U turn beside the saloon car, with registration number GC 2932-19.
The accident, which created a gridlock on the main Kasoa road took Amanfro took police personnel some hours before it was brought under control.
A towing car later arrived on the scene to remove the cars to allow free flow of traffic.
