On Monday, the Minority in Parliament led a demonstration against the Bank of Ghana Governor, Dr Ernest Addison, and his deputies over their management of the bank - calling for their resignation.
In response, Dr Addison stated that he would not leave his post saying "the demonstration yesterday [Monday] was completely unnecessary."
Today on Newsfile, the host Samson Lardy Anyenini and his guests discussed the #OccupyBoG demo and the Governor's response and its impact.
Also on the show, the panel discussed the recent dialysis crisis that has had many patients with kidney failure coughing up huge sums of money for treatment. In addition, the show delved into the mass exodus of teachers from Ghana to the UK which the registrar of the National Teaching Council, Dr Christian Addai-Poku, deemed worrying.
According to him, over 16,000 Ghanaian teachers applied to the Department of Education in the United Kingdom for employment and by 13 June 2023, about 10,000 of the applicants with Ghana Teacher Licenses had been certified to work in the UK without any further assessment by the UK government.
