Ghana has been drawn in Group B for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament to be staged in Ivory Coast.
The Black Stars discovered their fate on Thursday night as the draw was done in Abidjan. Ghana will face record holders Egypt alongside Cape Verde and Mozambique in the group stage of the competition.
The fixture between Ghana and Egypt creates an exciting environment as Egypt stopped Ghana from winning a fifth AFCON trophy in 2010.
Egypt have won the competition on seven occasions, more than any other country.
Chris Hughton's boys will be based in Abidjan, where the majority of their games will be played at the Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium.
The top two teams from the group will automatically progress to the knockout stage, with the four best third-placed teams also advancing to the knockout stage.
The competition will begin on January 13, 2024, with the final being played on February 11, 2024.
In other pairings, host nation Ivory Coast will come up against Nigeria, Equatorial Guinea and Guinea Bissau in Group A.
Group C sees defending champions, Senegal will face competition from Cameroon, Guinea and the Gambia while Algeria in Group D, will battle Burkina Faso, Mauritania and Angola.
Here are the full groupings for the AFCON 2023:
