This Saturday’s edition of JoyNews’ Newsfile will be discussing the Founder of defunct Capital Bank, William Ato Essien’s 15years jail term after he was convicted of stealing over GH¢90m of Bank of Ghana’s liquidity support from the now-defunct financial institution.
The jail term comes after his inability to fully pay the said amount back to the State after agreeing to do so despite being afforded the opportunity.
Other court issues such as former Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD) CEO, Dr Stephen Opuni's trial and the Special Prosecutor's petition to the Chief Justice to remove Justice Edward Twum from Cecilia Dapaah's case were also discussed.
Also, the Attorney General’s advice on former Environment Minister, Prof Frimpong Boateng's report on illegal mining was dissected.
The United Television invasion and the apprehension of the 16 suspects was the final item on the agenda for discussion. The main topic of discussion will be whether or not arrested individuals will face charges by the police.
