An Executive Council member of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Gifty Oware-Mensah, has lauded Ampem Darkoa Ladies' performances at the 2023 CAF Women's Champions League.
The Ghanaian champions finished fourth in the competition, missing out on the bronze medal after losing to ASFAR Club in the third-place playoff game.
Ampem Darkoa Ladies were making their maiden appearance at the competition having failed to qualify last season.
And while they may not have reached the heights of Hasaacas Ladies in 2021, the management committee member of the club believes the team did well.
"We came, we saw, and I believe we have left an indelible mark that can not be overlooked. For most of you, this marks the beginning of a great turn in your career," she said.
"This exposure will shoot most of you to the next level. Even though we came to play, we came to also make a name for ourselves, and that has very much been achieved too."
The Berry Ladies Bankroller also lauded the development of women's game on the continent in the last few years.
"The women's game in recent years remains what put Ghana on the map, and it's good to know that Ampem Darkoa has played a role in that light. Continue to work hard, and you could return to play in this championship," she added.
Following their fourth-pace finish, Ampem Darkoa Ladies are expected to take home $200,000 as prize money.
