Ghanaian artiste Wiyaala has returned with the second edition of her cultural talent hunt dubbed Yaga Yaga Talent Show.
The Yaga Yaga Talent Show was created by Wiyaala in 2022 to give opportunities to all cultural performers in the Upper West Region.
There are cash prizes of GHS 5000 to be given to the winning contestants.
The auditions will be done on 2nd December 2023 at First and Last Gardens at Wa in the Upper West Region of Ghana, with the finale on December 30, 2023.
Speaking about why she started the initiative, Wiyaala said that while growing up, the lack of such opportunities to showcase her talent informed her decision to put together this talent hunt for her people.
“When I was growing up, there were few opportunities for talents in my community to showcase their art. Now myself and the team at UPPER WEST PRTV are giving local talent that opportunity. This years show now includes not only bigger cash prizes but also opportunities for all artistic disciplines and useful experience for those artists who may wish to go on to national talent shows in Accra or beyond,” she said.
Wiyaala, a native of Funsi in the Upper West Region of Ghana has made greater strides in the music industry, gaining prominence with her artistry on the international music market.
She has songs such as 'Leno', 'Wisi', 'Rock My Body', 'Africa', among others.
