Ghana's MTN FA Cup winners Dreams Football Club had a frustrating start to the 2023/24 CAF Confederation Cup as they suffered a defeat to Club Africain.
The Dawu-based side succumbed to two first-half goals in Tunisia on matchday one of the tournament.
The debutants conceded the opening goal of the game after just five minutes played with the hosts dancing their way through Dreams' defence before Tayeb Meziani scored.
14 minutes later, Kingsley Eduwo doubled the lead for Club Africain with an effort from outside the penalty box.
Dreams FC skipper Abdul Jalilu was booked on the 40th-minute mark before the halftime break.
After the recess, Jalilu received a second booking and was given an early shower with Dreams being reduced to 10 men.
However, Club Africain failed to add to their two goals from the opening half as the game ended 2-0 after 90 minutes.
In the other Group C game, Nigeria's Rivers United recorded a 3-o win over Academica Petroleos do Lobito of Angola.
