The Paramount Chief of Wenchi Traditional Area, Osagyefo Ampem Annye Amoampong Tabrako III, says he is committed to maintaining good sanitation so as to provide a healthy living environment for his people.
He said being healthy is the greatest thing any individual or country should aspire to have, hence his resolve to whip up the interest of his people in cleaning the environment.
Osagyefo Ampem Annye Amoampong Tabrako III, therefore, stressed on the need for all natives of Wenchi to embrace the habit of cleaning their environment.

The Paramount Chief of Wenchi, who made the call during the celebration of the 2023 annual yam festival, tasked his people to view cleaning the environment as an obligation.
‘‘All citizens have a role to play in ensuring that proper environmental sanitation is their priority,'' he said.
He stated that a filthy environment breeds several illnesses, which, in most cases, lead to the death of several people, especially children.

"It's always safer and cheaper to keep our environment clean health-wise than to carry money in fighting diseases that could be avoided if the sourroundings have been kept clean from dirt,’’ he pointed out.
He further said regular clean-ups would help prevent the breeding of mosquitoes and eliminate malaria since filth and pollution are natural hazards.
Osagyefo Ampem Annye Amoampong Tabrako III asked his sub-chiefs and the people of Wenchi to unite to identify and tackle the diverse developmental challenges in the area.

He said, ‘‘We deserve better, so let's unite and stand against anything that retards development so we can build the new Wenchi we all want’’.
‘‘Being Bono, Banda, Wangara or whatever, peace and unity are prerequisites for development, and I urge you to guard against behaviours that could threaten the prevailing peace of Wenchi,’’ the overload of the Wenchi Traditional Area added.
He urged stakeholders in health to embark on public health awareness campaigns to highlight the negative effect of filth on the environment.
